Introduction:
Pivot Stickfigure Animator is a simple program which can be used to make animations onscreen. You don't have to mess about with props and cameras... everything is done on the computer screen. Here's an example:

  • Keep moving him and click on 'Next Frame' after each movement. Remember to keep the movements small, as this will make your animation really smooth.

  • When you are finished, click on 'File' and 'Save Animation' to save your animation. Save it as a GIF. Remember to use your name(s) as the file name and save it in the ICT CLUB folder on the desktop.
  • You can also add other characters to your animation. To do this, click on 'File' and then 'Load Figure Type'.
  • Try exploring the other options. Can you change the colour of your characters, or flip them to face the opposite direction?

Remember to add your information to the Register when you have finished!

Ideas and Challenges to Try:
  • Can you make a stick man walk?
  • Can you make him play a game... football? basketball?
  • Can you animate two characters at a time?
  • Try to retell a simple story that you know.
  • Think of an emotion. Can you animate a stick figure which shows that emotion clearly?
